Continuous heavy rain overnight and during the day have seen water levels in Pix Brook rise throughout the day resulting in flooding at Brook Street in Stotfold and surrounding roads including Coppice Mead and Wycklond Close.
Some locals were stranded and could not access or their road due to the high water levels.
One bystander stated, "I've never seen the flood waters rise above the top of the bridge and flow over the actual road itself."
Local residents used sandbags to try and prevent flood water entering their homes but with the water levels continuing to rise the potential for homes to flood is increasing.
