Delivery Boys Review - The Cornerstone

Breakfast, the most important meal of the day! Once again the delivery boys decided to ‘fuel up’ before starting their Saturday morning delivery round in Shefford. We headed to The Cornerstone, a familiar landmark in the centre of Shefford, and received a warm, friendly welcome from the management team, Rod and Michelle.

The Breakfast menu is simple and straight forward at The Cornerstone, you get the basic full english, which includes 2 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 eggs and toast, plus you get to choose 3 of the following: mushrooms, beans, black pudding, tomatoes, hash browns, fried potato & onion or fried slice. You want it your way? You got it! There’s even vegetarian options as well. Tea or coffee is also included and both Andrew and I opted for coffee and were very impressed by the delicious Lavazza coffee that arrived at our table whilst we waited for our breakfast to be cooked.

Breakfast arrived soon enough and it ticked all the boxes. Perfect eggs, fresh toast, tasty sausages, we scoffed the lot, a fantastic way to start the day!

One of the good things about The Cornerstone is its prime location in the town centre and when sat at a window seat you are perfectly placed to watch Shefford life pass by. For a Saturday morning the pub was fairly busy, and as it turned out The Cornerstone is the meeting place for a local ‘sports syndicate’ called the ‘10:28 Club’, who meet every Saturday morning at, yes, you’ve guessed it, 10:28am! They meet up for breakfast, banter and perhaps the occasional beer! A fascinating and entertaining bunch of people to meet.

If you fancy a good full english breakfast then The Cornerstone is the place to go, serving breakfast between 10am and 12pm on Friday and Saturday, whilst on Sunday they offer a Sunday Roast.
