Shefford Duck Race 2019
Sponsored by Country Properties and now in its 21st year, Shefford’s annual Duck Race is a fantastic event open to all. It’s run by Acorn Pre-School and the Mighty Oaks, a charity run setting for children aged 2-12 years, providing Pre-School and wrap-around care.
The Duck Race is a community event and is always popular with young families in particular, but provides something for everyone to do, no matter your age. Place your bets on the ducks with a choice of 15 different races, plus bonus races (£1 per duck and £5 for bonus races). Buy tickets for the raffle with a chance to win an Amazon Echo, Coffee Machine, Nutri Fusion to name a few!! Go on the bouncy castle, have your face painted, enjoy the food and drink on offer, and cheer on your duck. All of this and so much more to do!
It’s a lively and busy afternoon, so if you want to avoid the queues buy your ducks or raffle tickets in advance from the Acorn Pre-School office prior to the weekend of the duck race. There’s also the opportunity to grab your ‘Decorate a Duck’ kit for just £5; make sure you bring it along on the day so it can be entered into our competition!

Clifton Cricket Club - Duck Race
Ahhh, village Cricket. The sound of Leather on Willow; the smell of freshly cut grass and the prospect of an afternoon cup of tea and scone…what could be better?
At Clifton Cricket Club we offer a fantastic setting for the beautiful game of cricket with huge emphasis on our ever successful youth division. We attract players from all ages from all over the county and beyond. 2019 saw us host our first Over 60’s Bedfordshire county match.
As a wholly inclusive club we welcome all locals to come and enjoy our events which are very much a part of the local community lifestyle. One of these events is our legendary Clifton Duck Race, a fete style evening held this year on 12th July from 5.30pm. The Duck Race is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we usually see up to 1000 people turning out to support the Club and enjoy an evening in the sunshine where the Children are kept very entertained by our various activities and stalls. We welcome any new players and volunteers looking to join the club.
